What is CoDI?

The CoDI team accesses current research, models and training while creating assessment and intervention strategies for the co-occurring disorder population. Provision of topical workshops, skill trainings and publication of materials addressing co-occurring disorders is available to behavioral health care providers, medical providers, teaching professionals, parents, and interested community members. CoDI provides training, consultation and/or supervision to agencies in the Mat-Su Borough and throughout the State of Alaska that serve adolescents, chronically mentally ill, elderly and disabled individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders.

Randy Moss

Executive Director

Randy holds a Doctorate of Philosophy, Counseling Psychology and is the Executive Director for the Co-Occurring Disorders Institute. He also runs a private practice based mainly on the principle of psychological, counseling and management services. Randy has worked in the field for over 20 years. He has an extensive background in mental illness counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, adolescent therapy, parenting, family counseling, testing/evaluation/assessment process development, comprehensive integrated program development, co-occurring disorder and dual diagnosis treatment, and more.

Debi Shade

V.P. of Operations

Debi is a native-born Alaskan who has lived on the Kenai Peninsula, Eagle River and currently resides in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley; she has also lived in Arkansas and Texas. Debi was a volunteer of the Mat-Su 4-H program for 7 years. She loves horses, fishing and camping and being with her family. Debi has worked for the Co-Occurring Disorders Institute since its beginnings as a SAMHSA funded program through Behavioral Health Services of Mat-Su (Life Quest) in September 2001 when she was hired as the program administrative assistant. She is currently the Vice President of Operations of CoDI. Her passion for the mission and vision of the CoDI project compelled her to join with other CoDI team members and create a private, non-profit corporation (CoDI, Inc.) when the 3 1/2 years of SAMHSA funding ended. Debi has been employed in the behavioral health field since 1997 and has 20+ years of experience in various areas of office administration work. She attended Arkansas Tech University and the College of the Ozarks, where she pursued higher education in business management. Debi completed the 13 week Foraker course for NonProfit management and received her certificate in December 2005

Kristi Campbell

Resource Clerk

Kristi Campbell has lived in Alaska since 1977. During her time in Alaska she has lived in two villages, Tuluksak and Tanana. She has also lived in Fairbanks. Kristi attended College in Hawaii and is currently working on finishing her degree at UAA. She is certified in CPR/First Aid. She also is a trained presenter of PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program). She co-presents marriage seminars with her Husband. She has been employed as a Librarian, Teacher Aid, and a Reading Tutor. Kristi is heavily involved in volunteer work and enjoys working with youth. She is active with the youth at her church. She belongs to a book club and takes pleasure in gardening and working in her yard. Kristi is passionate about her children and their activities. She enjoys attending their musical concerts. Kristi Campbell joined the CoDI team on February 13, 2008.

Dustin Logan

Dustin holds a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and has two years experience as a therapist.  He has also worked in vocational rehabilitation doing testing and assessment as well as many aspects of job readiness training and job development for persons with disabilities.  Dustin plans on going back to school for a PhD in the future.  His interests include testing and assessment, neuropsychology, motivation, and performance.  He is a third-generation Alaskan who loves the outdoors and all that Alaska has to offer.  After having traveled to some other parts of the world he says that there is nothing quite like Alaska.  If he goes missing he is most likely on a river somewhere with either a set of oars or a fly rod in his hand.
